Very often when we’re stuck in a cycle or a phase, we think we’ll be there forever. And I think to some degree this is what makes the situation seem worse. Because we focus on the duration of the challenge rather than what it’s teaching us, or where we need to grow.
Think back to the many challenges you’ve faced in your life, prior to the one you may be facing now and ask yourself, “Am I still there, or did I get through it?”
This challenge is no different. If you’ve passed through one, you’ll pass through another. Note the strategies or decisions you made previously to get through and install them again this time round.
Life is a series of ups and downs. When we recognise this, we develop a better more rationale perspective of the way we view life in general. Instead of having this false belief that life is meant to be all smooth sailing.
If only it was, but then again, when there’s no struggle, there’s no growth.
I believe one of the greatest rewards of challenges, is that we learn a little bit more of ourselves. We learn and build strength, courage and the ability to move forward. If we allow the challenge to change us in a way that makes us better people, then what a gift is truly is.
