This is as much a message to myself as well as others.
If we keep avoiding things, life, risks, because we're afraid, the fear grows.
It gets bigger in our mind. Therefore we continue to avoid doing the very thing we crave.
Just making one small step towards the very thing you fear is a step towards curing the same fear.
The more we move towards it with courage, the more we achieve and end up realising what we wanted was not nearly as terrifying as we thought.
But first we must try.

Trauma sucks. It wasn't your choice to be raised

Trauma sucks.
It wasn't your choice to be raised the way you were.
And you shouldn't have to unlearn and relearn the foundations of your life.
We don't do any of the work for anyone else but ourselves.
To give ourselves the best possible future.
To heal from pain, from traumatic memories.
The choice to start again and re learn as we ought to have been raised is hard and unfair at times.

Do it for you and you will real the benefits and change the future for yourself and generations to come.

We can get pretty angry when we know that no matte

We can get pretty angry when we know that no matter what we do, we end up in the same mess.
We want to have something different yet we don't get it.

It's important to realise it's not the will or the determination that needs changing, it's the map, the processes, your belief system you're using that's faulty.

Your beliefs underpin your thoughts and decisions.

To arrive where you want to be, you'll need to pull apart the very actions you take to get there and pin point what belief you have that sets you on that course.

It is not the people or the circumstances that keep 'screwing with you' it's the patterns of beliefs and thoughts and actions that drive you to repeat the same course every time.

Spend time looking at one area of your life where you know you keep getting results you don't want.
Take the time to be honest with yourself without judgement, without criticism.
Ask yourself some questions
What belief do I have about this?
How do I contribute to this situation?
What am I allowing to happen?
What am I pretending not
to know?
What thoughts do I think when this situation arises?

To change your external results, the model within your mind has to change first.

When a parent overrides a child's right to consent

When a parent overrides a child's right to consent, they are sending a powerful message to a child that their safety and boundaries do not matter. That they don't have choice over their bodies.

Teaching a child that they have the right not to kiss or hug or sit on laps of family friends or family teaches them respect, for themselves and choice over their own body, over their preferences.

That is the right of every single child!

Open and honest relationships often require diffic

Open and honest relationships often require difficult conversations to clear the air, set boundaries, heal rifts.
Unfortunately a lot of people avoid them. For various reasons. Usually fear. Fear of rejection,. Fear they're making a big deal out of it and jeopardizing the relationship, or fear having thr conversation will end it.
These conversations are necessary for healthy respectful relstionships.
Because we typically avoid them we don't develop the skills in them..
Practice with someone you trust.
Write down what you want to say first.
Read books or articles on how to have difficult conversations.

The important thing here is that we value and support our right to have these conversations for long term healthy relationships to thrive.
Good relationships take work. And having difficult talks are often part of it and can be a transformative experience in deepening relationships.
